It is absolutely ridiculous that Maria and Derek were eliminated! Maria is an extremely talented dancer and has improved so much over the weeks in spite of several injuries. I hate that this show (and numerous other reality competition shows) has turned into a popularity contest and not a contest to determine the best dancer (which it should be). May I add that this was not the first time this exact event has happened to Derek in particular. A few years ago he was eliminated right before the finals with Joanna Krupa who was extremely talented and had immense potential to win. Even the judges said so. I believe that scoring should be 75% judges and 25% public vote instead of 50/50. That way it’s more fair to the more talented dancers who may not be as popular. I am totally supportive of the three finalists, but there have been too many instances since I started watching the show where I have been disappointed because my favorite couple were eliminated too early.
